Hazconnect Helps SERCs meet AWIA Requirements

The America Water Infrastructure Act (AWIA) of 2018 amended EPCRA. Per the EPA website, Community water systems should receive prompt notification of releases that are reportable under EPCRA Section 304 and Community water systems should be given access to hazardous chemical inventory data that is reported under EPCRA Section 312.

Hazconnect enables SERCs or LEPCs to address AWIA through automated notifications to Community Water Resources when a spill/incident is reported in Hazconnect. This notification helps Water Resources ensure that they are protected from the spill that occurred or for chemicals that may be stored nearby.
